Medicare Claims, FISS and Remittance Review
August 26, 2010
Course Description
Are your hospital’s Medicare claims being paid correctly?  Are you getting all the reimbursement you are entitled to? Are you using Medicare’s Fiscal Intermediary Shared System (FISS) to its capacity?  This program will help you answer these questions, and help your hospital improve Medicare payment timeliness and accuracy.
Preparing claims and reviewing remittance advices (RAs) is an important function in the billing and reimbursement cycle. Participants will learn what to look for on claims and RAs that may be affecting payments. FISS inquiry functions are powerful tools that can be used to monitor claims in the payment cycle and other status locations that may need investigation. Understand the inquiry functions and use them to your advantage.
